2nd Teacher for Term 3

Oli Ryks will be with room 7 until the end of week 9 this term. She has been here for a week and has fitted in nicely. The children all think she is great and are looking forward to doing more lessons with her. We have already baked cookies at the Technology Centre together and we will put some pictures up on the blog very soon. We had a great time. A BIG THANK YOU to Myf who helped us to make the cookies. We wrote instructions about how to make cookies in our books too.

Portraits

Hi everyone

Here are our portraits that we did in Term 1. (Above in the slideshow) They are based on the style of an Italian artist named Amedeo Modigliani. Amedeo's pictures had very long necks to make them look tall and thin. We used chalk to draw outlines and then used crayon to colour the different parts. After this we used black dye over the top.

We hope you like them. We are proud of them.

Camborne Walk

Well...what a GREAT day kowhai syndicate had today on the Camborne walk trip. We all walked down to the beach and had lunch, some running races and crab races. We were the crabs!

Treasure hunts, sandcastle making and digging for crabs (real ones) were also part of the experience. Everyone had an AWESOME time. It was a hot, sunny day too and we were all sun smart with our sunscreen, hats and water bottles.

A BIG THANK YOU to all the parents who helped with transport and looking after groups of children.
